Accommodations

The convention will be hosted at the Sheraton Stamford Hotel, 2701 Summer Street, Stamford, Connecticut 06905; phone 203-359-1300; fax 203-348-7937. Our special convention room rate is $119 for single–quad; $149 for executive-level rooms; and $249 for suites, based on availability. This rate is available four days before and after convention for those who want to take advantage of sightseeing. (If you need additional nights, the rate will be honored upon request, depending on availability.) Parking is complimentary. Click here to book online.

Please make your reservations soon. We have guaranteed a large block of rooms, and can add more if needed—again, as long as they are available. The hotel is very busy on weekdays, so it is very important to let the hotel know if we need additional rooms ASAP. We have many people who have expressed interest in coming early or staying over to sightsee, so we expect our room block will fill quickly. The cut-off date for room reservations is October 27. If our block is full or you have any problems making reservations, please contact Sandra personally.

Driving Directions to the Hotel

From the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95), Traveling North
Take Exit #8and turn left onto Atlantic Street, which becomes a one way street called Bedford St.
Enter the Hotel on left from Bedford St.

From the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95), Traveling South
Take Exit #7 onto North State Street.
Continuing on North State Street, at the second light take a right onto Atlantic Street.
Follow Atlantic Street, which becomes a one way street called Bedford St.

From the Merritt Parkway (Rt 15), Traveling North
Take exit #34 and turn right onto Long Ridge Rd.
Follow Long Ridge Rd which becomes summer St
Enter hotel on left from Summer St.

Take Exit #35 and turn right onto High Ridge Rd
Follow High Ridge Rd which becomes Summer Street.

Transportation to the hotel from area airports

US Limo is headquartered on our Sheraton Hotel grounds. They offer private Luxury Limos and Town Cars from all area airports to the hotel, and are also available for transportation into NYC. Advance reservations required. Call 1-800-637-3373 and be sure to ask for the special Gene Convention rate. Their Town Cars hold up to 3 people, depending on the amount of luggage. Prices per car to/from the Sheraton and each airport are as follows (gratuity, tolls, etc, additional):

Prime Time Airport Shuttle has 9 and 10 passenger shuttles that leave directly from JFK and LaGuardia airports every 30-35 minutes. These are shared shuttles. $46 each way, up to 6 on one CC $33. Children 14 and under cost $15. Click here for online reservations.
